Tuesday Talk {Quiet Time}

Hello Friends!

Hope everyone is having a great start to their week!
Today, I wanted to share with you my daily quiet time~~

Monday-Friday I get a daily devotional email from Girlfriends in God! I LOVE their daily emails!
very uplifting
They relate to everyday life!

This is how I start my morning!
Coffee, yogurt, and Girlfriends in God!

I have a Journaling Bible! I love the margins on the edge of the pages, so I can make notes, draw, color, whatever!
I also have my prayer journal~ I just started writing my daily prayers in it! (It's just a notebook from Target)

Gotta have my yogurt and coffee!

Here is my email from Girlfriends in God!

A closer look at my Journaling Bible
Mine came all black, I added the white strips and "bind my wondering heart to you"

This was a free printable one day!
I thought this was PERFECT for me! With all my hair, my bun is HIGH! so I'm that much closer to heaven!~ hahah ;)
If you sign up for their emails you will get lots of free printable!

These amazing tabs came from The Salty Biscuit!

I purchased and printed these prayer journal cards from Illustrated Faith!
I have started using them yet! But I am looking forward to!
I want to put them in a notebook and be able to look back at them!!

I enjoy my quiet time! It really helps me to set the tone for the day and get my heart and head ready to tackle the day! But being honest, sometimes I don't start each day in the word of God and I can honestly say, those are the days that I seem to yell more at my kids, be more grumpy, have very little patiences, and overall have a rough day!
Now, that I realized that I try to start each morning with God and have a grateful heart!

A few years ago, I was reading one of my GIG emails and one of the "girlfriends" was sharing how her husband would drive her crazy leaving his coffee cups around the house, his workshop, etc! She would get so frustrated with him and wonder why he just couldn't put his coffee cups in the sink or dishwasher! Well, I knew EXACTLY how she felt because Ben would leave the butter knife that he stirred his coffee with each morning laying on my dish rag in between the 2 sinks! It would DRIVE me crazy seeing that each morning!
Well the "girlfriend" changed her heart and decided that every time she saw one of her husbands coffee cups, she would pray for him! So I thought to myself I will do the something! As I put the butter knife in the dishwasher I will pray for Ben! I will pray for his safety as he travels around the city going on appointments, to relief some of his stress of his stressful job, to give him the leadership skills to be an amazing boss that day, to give him the knowledge and words to complete a deal, etc!
So now each morning when I come downstairs I can't wait to see the "butter knife" laying in between the 2 kitchen sinks!
Why he uses a butter knife to stir his coffee is beyond me, but hey whatever works! ;)

Hope you ladies have an awesome Tuesday!

xoxo, Heather

Linking up today with some AWESOME ladies

It really changed my attitude when I read that! Better to pray for him than to get mad:)

  3. I love how you are able to have quiet time in the mornings. If I didn't have to be up so early already, I would do the same.

    1. I understand that! It is harder in the school year, when we have to be ready by a certain time and out the door!

  4. I love this post and it serves as a reminder to start my day with God. Lately, I've been ending my day in his word and through prayer and that is great but I need to start my day with it for more peace and to be a better mama. Thank you for sharing all of this! xoxoxo

  5. I haven't heard of The Girlfriends, but I'm definitely going to check it out. I'm in a weekly women's bible study at church that usually keeps me on track & in the bible daily, but we took a break for summer and my spiritual life has been stuck in a summertime rut! I need something to get me back on track. Thanks for sharing!
I love the butter knife story, too! What a great perspective! Have a great day!

  7. I love that prayer tip! My husband also leaves his "stirring" spoon lying on the counter and daily I grit my teeth while placing it in the sink and wiping up the coffee drippings. I should definitely take your advice (and that of GIG) and instead of gritting my teeth...use them to lift him up for the day.
