President's Trip to Key West

Hey Y'all! Happy Monday! I missed y'all on Friday but I just couldn't get my life together after getting back on Wednesday. I am back today with a recap of our trip to Key West.

Saturday, March 8th-

My alarm went off at 4:30AM, We got ready, finished packing, and were on the road to the airport by 5:45.

We got to the airport, parked, got our bags checked in, through security, and at a bar by 7:45AM.

We boarded the plane around 9am, our flight was at 9:41. I watched the first episode of Landman and loved it. We landed around 11:38 and we at the hotel, checked in but our room wasn't ready, so we went to the bar for lunch and another drink.

We stayed at Casa Marina Resort

Our room finally got ready and it was beautiful.

Roosters and chickens were everywhere.

We got our swimsuits on and headed to the beach to meet everyone else.

Walking in the water, smoking a cigar, and drinking a makers with ginger. He was a happy man.

Ian called and they went to get gas in Ella's car and then her car wouldn't start back. We got someone to come jump her off, they got it to the automotive store, got the battery tested and they said the battery was fine. They got her car home and parked in the garage and she drove my car while we were gone.

The kids went to dinner with Chris, Emma, and Grammy to celebrate Chris' birthday. Afterwards, Ella went to hang out with The Boswell's before spending the night at Catherine's house. Ian and Kathryn went line dancing with some friends in Athens.

We got ready and headed out to Hank's and then barhopped.

We didn't love La te da.

We had such a fun time! We crashed once we got back to our room.

Sunday, March 9th-

Ben and I were up and got ready to head to breakfast at the resort. We walked to the Southern Most Point.

We got back, put on our swimsuits, and headed to the pool for the day.

We went up around 3pm, took a nap, and then headed to dinner around 6pm. We went to Four Marlins.

Such a cute entryway into the restaurant.

I got the mahi mahi and Ben got the pork chop. Y'all look at that pork.

Had to get an Espresso Martini. So GOOD!

The best churros. They were SO GOOD!

We got back to the resort and they had live music so Ben lite a cigar and I grabbed us another drink.

Once he finished his cigar, we closed our bar bill, and headed up to the room.

Monday, March 10th-

Ben and I were up, got ready, and headed to breakfast. We ran into another couple from the trip so they joined us for breakfast. After breakfast, they went to Duval street and Ben and I went to put our swimsuits on. Ella overslept so she checked in late. I got this picture from her.

We enjoyed another day at the pool.

and the critters around the pool.

Look at the baby chicks.

Ella's golf match got canceled due to rain. So she sent us this picture of Duke after school. HA

Ben headed up to the room to work and I headed to the beach with some of the others.

I went back up to the room to chill and poor Ben was still working at 4:15.

We did get ready and headed to Downtown street for dinner at Pincher's.

Wine was BOGO! 😂😂

A package was delivered to our rooms on Monday and the guys got these awesome polos and 3 of them wore them out that evening.

After dinner, we walked to a cigar bar. Y'all look how COOL!

Later we walked to The Bull & Whistle Bar.

First floor was The Bull, 2nd Floor- Whistle Bar. Where the men whooped up on the seniors in college at some pool. All in good fun, of course.

The 3rd floor- Garden of Eden where clothing is optional. Yes, some of us went up there (fully clothed) and there were some people full naked. Security was tight and you COULD NOT have out your cellphone.

It was a really fun night!!! We got back and crashed again.

Tuesday, March 11th-

Ben and I were up early again and headed back to breakfast. Look what we saw as we were leaving breakfast... A FRENCHIE.

Her name was Deborah and they called her little Debbie. She was 4 months old. So precious!!

We got back to the room, Ben needed to check in on work so I took a walk.

Love these signs.

So beautiful.

We did put on our bathing suits, headed to the pool, it was windy and I was wrapped up in a towel. We ended up heading back to the room to rest for a little bit.

Ben ended up having to work for a little bit longer and it had warmed up so I headed back to the pool. Ella facetimed me, I started reading, and then a few others started joining me.

Susanne and I ordered Mudslides. Look how CUTE!

Ben was finally able to head down to the pool for a while. Him and I did head back to the room around 3:30. We had to be in the lobby by 6:30 to head out for a group dinner.

Ben took a nap and I read on the patio. Look at this view.

Found another Frenchie playing with his daddy.

Ben and I got ready early and headed to the lobby for a drink!

Then the trolley came to pick us up to take us to First Flight for dinner!

First Flight was beautiful.

After an amazing dinner, some of us headed back to Hank's which was across the street for another round of drinks before crashing to head home the next day!

My Dress

Ben and I got back to the room around 11pm, set our alarms for 7am, and CRASHED!

We had an AMAZING trip!! Already counting down the days till next years trip!

During all my pool and beach time, I was enjoying an ARC copy of Kelly Elliott's NEW Book This Moment. Y'all. I. Couldn't. Put. It. Down. Kelly is one of my FAVORITE authors and she DID NOT disappoint. The Mystery. The Romance. It was perfect.
